What's the Difference Between Type 1 DVD RAM and Type 2 DVD RAM?

DVD-RAM comes in two types of cartridges.

Type 1 DVD-RAM is double sided or dual layer disc. In this type of DVD-RAM the disc is sealed in the cartridge.

Type 2 DVD-RAM is a single layer disc. This type of DVD_RAM is not sealed in the cartridge and can be removed.

You can remove a single layer DVD-RAM from itx cartridge and read it in a computer DVD-ROM drive Alternatively, you could play the removed disc in a DVD Player that supports DVD-RAM.

Double-sided DVD-RAM, on the other hand, can only be read or played on computer DVD drives and DVD Players which support DVD-RAM.
