Play it Safe: Duplicate Your DVDs

DVD duplication is frowned up because it amounts to piracy. But then the purpose of this post is not to encourage you to indulge in piracy.

You should learn DVD duplication to safeguard your original DVDs you have spent a fortune on. If you're travelling, you wouldn't want to take the risk of bringing along your precious DVD collection, would you? What will happen if you lose the DVD collection or if it gets stolen?


Similarly, if you're at home, your DVDs may not go missing or get stolen, but they may get damaged. A family member who's not used to handling DVDs may scratch your precious DVD. A friend may borrow your DVD disc and lose or dmage it.

To protect you against these eventualities, you could do well to duplicate your DVD. So, long as you don't duplicate your DVD and sell it or give it away to your friends, you'll not run foul of the law.

The best time to duplicate your DVD is immediately after buying it. Before that you would want to play the DVD to see if it's alright. Then you go ahead and duplicate it.

Carry the duplicate DVD with you when you want to view it outside your house or when you're going away on a long trip. Don't forget to offer this duplicate copy when spmeone wants to borrow your DVD.

Better to be safe than sorry.
